Fall Fun

I'm not sure why, but we didn't take a lot of pictures in October. We were busy with school and it seemed like every kid in both girls classes had birthday parties in October. But we did take a day to play in the leaves and attempt to get a cute picture of the kids in Halloween shirts.

Playing in the leaves!

My sweet girl

The kids were so crazy playing in the leaves that it was really hard to get them to sit still for a picture. These few were the best Shawn could get.

Silly kids!

Burying each other in the leaves

Where's Arilyn??

Me and Alexa

Old Ellie

The kids decided a pile of leaves wasn't enough fun, so they piled them on the slide to slide down into them. Arilyn is waiting for Addison and Owen to finish putting leaves on the slide.

Arilyn coming down...

hitting the leaves...

Crazy girl

Addison's turn!

She really got buried!

Alexa collected leaves in a bucket...

And then ate them!

She thought it was hilarious.

Father Daughter Dance

The girls' school has a father daughter dance every year, a square dance. The girls love it, so Shawn took them again this year and they had a blast!

Arilyn was pretending that our scarecrow was her date.

Addison ready to go!

Owen didn't quite understand that it was just for fathers and daughters, so he wanted his picture taken, too.

Daddy and his girls (minus 1…Alexa was too busy running around in the front yard)

So cute

Arilyn's Macaw Party!

Arilyn did a report on macaws last year in school and has been obsessed with them ever since. She wanted her party theme to be 'macaws' and to rent a macaw. I didn't think we'd be able to, but low and behold…we found a macaw. It was so neat! The guy who came holds a world record for driving the fastest on a motorcycle with a macaw on his shoulder. He showed up on his Harley with the bird on his shoulder. It was really neat. The kids LOVED it and Arilyn was in heaven!

Here's the birthday girl with the macaw on her shoulder. She was beyond happy.

I'm pretty sure she would've kept Rainbow on her shoulder all day!

Owen wasn't too sure at first, but he did it. Then he thought he was a 'real pirate'

Addison loved it as well!

Alexa, however, wasn't too sure. She would not take her eyes off of the bird!

Giving Rainbow a pet

More pettting...

Then they got to have Rainbow on their head!

Shawn got in on the action.

Here's Rainbow on his owners shoulder getting ready to leave. It was a great experience!

Happy Birthday Arilyn!!

Arilyn Turns 8

I'm not sure how this is possible, but Arilyn turned 8 years old this year. We had the family party on her birthday...
Arilyn wanted me to do a 10 tiered waterfall cake, but I talked her into a fish instead!

The birthday girl

Ready to eat some cake!

Blowing out the trick candles

Taking the first bite.

Ornery Alexa

Opening presents...I thought this picture was funny- I'm not sure what Owen is doing and Alexa has her tongue hanging out. They were really excited about Arilyn's presents!

Super excited about the microscope

Everybody checking out the new doll

Piper finally laying down out of the way

Our future scientist! Happy Birthday Arilyn!!

Owen's First Day of Preschool

Owen started preschool the day after the girls. He was a little upset he had to wait an extra day, but we made it. He was so excited!
He is ready in his dinosaur shirt and dinosaur backpack!

At school waiting in line. I felt bad that he had to go to school with big cuts on his nose and head, he didn't mind much.

I thought this picture was hilarious. They're standing in line, Shawn was trying to get Owen to look at him and he's talking to the girl next to him. It was too funny!

Walking to the classroom.

And finally to the room! Owen kept asking the whole time- Are you guys going to go home yet?? It made me a little sad, but happy he's excited and ready for school!

Arilyn and Addison's First Day of School

Wow- I'm getting behind again! I thought I had already posted the first day of school, but I guess not! So here they are... Happy first day of school!

Arilyn starting 2nd grade
