Swimming

Yesterday at dinner Arilyn prayed. She thanked God for our food and then said 'and thank you that we'll hopefully get to go swimming in the actual pool tomorrow.' It was too cute. Thankfully it was really, really hot today and her prayers were answered! Here are some pictures from our first swim of the season. Owen didn't get to join in this one- he was asleep.

Arilyn getting ready to go in...

Going in.

Addison getting ready to go in...

She didn't stay in too long- although I filled up the pool early in the morning, it was still pretty cold in the afternoon.

Addison playing.

Addison was throwing water on Arilyn.

Arilyn decided she was going to be a dare devil and go down the slide head first...

She didn't go very fast. She is completely stopped in this picture, basically inching her way down.

Finally making it to the water.

Of course Addison had to try it, too. She was a little more daring and went a little faster. I'm not sure if it was intentional, however, or she just couldn't hang on as well as Arilyn did!

She's trying to keep her face up so it doesn't go in the water.

More playing.

Trying to throw more water on Arilyn.

I thought this was a neat picture. Arilyn was throwing water into the air and 'taking a shower' as it came down. I just thought the water looked really neat.

Ellie lounging in the yard.

After Arilyn and Addison splashed a lot of the water out of the pool, they asked if I could put more water in it, so I put the hose at the top of the slide to make a water slide. They loved it and kept stopping at the top to get a drink before they went down.

Addison getting her drink.

Even Ellie came over to get a drink.

Arilyn was holding the hose and kept moving it and squirting her. Ellie wasn't too fond of that, but kept coming back to get more water!

Slip and Slide

It's finally getting warm here and the girls have been asking if they could go swimming. It was still a little breezy for the pool, so we got the slip and slide out. Even Owen was able to get in on the action. It was freezing and they all had blue lips by the time we came in, but they loved it.

Arilyn just barely in the spray because the water was freezing.

Addison looking very cold.

Owen was really funny. He loved splashing in the water.

Playing in the pool at the end of the slip and slide. He wasn't too thrilled when the girls slid down and splashed him.

I thought this was a cute picture of all three playing.

Random Pics

I realized that I have been very bad about keeping up with the blog. I've been texting and emailing a lot of pictures, so I'm going to try to be better... we'll see!

We had a little bonfire last week. Owen has figured out that he can climb into the patio chairs and was very proud of himself! He looks like such a big boy sitting there!

Owen was trying to say hot. All that was coming out was 'ha' though. He was trying!

The girls have a new favorite tv channel- Sprout. It's the PBS cable channel. They show kids who have done different crafts and this was one of them- the Sproutarama. The girls had been begging me for weeks to make these, so I finally broke down. We took shoe boxes and made scenes in them. Arilyn wanted to do an ocean scene, so she did a fish, starfish, whale tail, jelly fish and waterfall. The yellow in the top left corner is the sun shining down into the water. She is so creative!

Here is Addison's. She wanted to do a night scene, but it turned into a sunset. I helped her cut out the horse and tree, but she cut out all the red apples on the tree and helped with the cloud. What you can't see is a huge pile of foam paper glued on top of each other in front of the horse. This was all her. She said it was a pond for the horse to get a drink from. Too funny!

After church last week I took the girls outside to the 'picture rock' as they call it. I wanted to get a cute picture of them to give to their teachers for the end of the school year. These were the best two. They were in silly moods!

Arilyn's hands are a little weird in this one, but I thought it was cute that they had their arms around each other and I really like their faces.

Cheesey Owen

A few weeks ago I posted Owen doing his fake cry. Here is his latest facial expression...
