Random Pictures

I realized that I haven't been posting anything the past few weeks. We really haven't done anything blog worthy. We've been playing outside a lot and enjoying the beautiful New England weather. Be patient though- pumpkin picking and Halloween are coming and there will be plenty to blog about! Here are just some random pictures just because...

I thought we were going to have our first trip to the ER today. Addison was playing in the kitchen, tripped and smacked her head on the cupboard.  She hit so hard, I knew it was going to be cut. Just in the time it took me to pick her up, her whole face was covered in blood. Once I figured out where she was bleeding from, it wasn't so bad. We're going to have Daddy take a closer look when he gets home, but she seems to be fine.

Addison fell right as we were sitting down for lunch, so as a special treat for her traumatic fall, she got to have an ice cream cone for dessert. She doesn't look traumatized by any stretch!

Arilyn got to enjoy a special treat for the fall, too. She was a good big sister. While Addison was crying (and bleeding), Arilyn brought her every stuffed animal in her room I think to get her to calm down. It was really cute.

Addison's Photo Shoot....

I took some pictures of Addison a few weeks ago, trying to get a few good ones. Didn't get much, but here are the best.

This is her yelling 'I did it!'

Cute picture of her curls.

Playing in the dirt.

Playing with Aunt Vanessa.

Arilyn's Photo Shoot...

I tried the same thing with Arilyn. She was a little more cooperative.

Picking flowers.

In deep thought.

Me trying to be creative!

It was a really cold, rainy day last week. Arilyn was really tired and crabby in the afternoon, so I put in a movie and let them relax for a little bit. Preschool really wears her out!

Last week, Arilyn's preschool class celebrated the color red. They were asked to wear something red that day and if we had the right clothes, Arilyn would have been head to toe in red. Fortunately, we didn't have red pants! But she had a red headband and red socks. She was really excited. Addison was apparently celebrating the color pink!

Happy 4th Birthday Arilyn!!

I can't believe Arilyn is 4 years old today! She was so excited that it was her birthday. She got to take a special treat (fruit chews) to Sunday school and got to pick what we had for dinner...grilled steak! Four year olds have sophisticated taste! Happy Birthday Arilyn!!

The Tinkerbell cake.

Blowing out the candles.

Opening presents.

Princess bowls from Grandma Townsend.

Arilyn is always asking if she can take pictures with my camera, so we got her a Princess digital camera of her own. It's pretty neat. It only has a few buttons on it and is very easy for her to use. It has a little screen so she can see what she's taking a picture of- although I'm not sure how much she paid attention to it! She was very snap happy tonight!

Figuring out all the buttons.

Taking a picture of Mommy with her new camera.

A Sample of Arilyn's Photos...(out of the 256 she took tonight!)

Taking a picture of Daddy taking a picture.

A better one of Daddy.

There is a feature where it has different characters on the screen. She really liked this feature and took a picture of me with just about all of them! Here's me and Princess Jasmine.

Me and Ariel.

Tinkerbell cake with Cinderella, Belle, and Snow White.

Mommy and Addison. Like I said- she didn't pay attention half the time to the screen. It has an auto flash on it and Arilyn likes to get close, so a lot of the pictures are over exposed. In fact, probably over half the pictures were just an all white screen.

Balloons.

Arilyn said she was going downstairs to take a picture of the 'Big G.'

I guess this is a picture of Owen? Not sure what she was going for here!

Arilyn was snapping away and comes running to me- Look Mom- I got a great picture of the floor!! It was too funny!

Addison trying to go potty. Arilyn wanted to take a picture of 'the potty girl.'

And Ellie- trying to hide in Arilyn's room.

Arilyn's 1st Day of Preschool

Today was Arilyn's first day of preschool! She was so excited and really couldn't have cared less if Shawn and I were there! She did great and I didn't cry!

The happy girl ready for her first day of school!

Arilyn with her penguin backpack that Aunt Vanessa got her last year.

A better picture of the backpack.

Addison had to pretend that she was going to school, too and had a backpack on!

Addison posing with her backpack.

Arilyn sitting on a rock outside her school.

Arilyn walking in the door like a big girl!

She went right to her cubby and hung up her backpack.

I figured that it would be a struggle to keep Addison out of the room. She really wanted to go too. This is Arilyn pushing her back out of the door telling her she couldn't come in because she wasn't old enough.

Arilyn was completely comfortable and started playing right away. I walked over to her and told her we were going to leave. She said- Ok, do you want a hug and a kiss? It was hilarious. I was really glad she felt comfortable, but kind of sad at the same time! When we picked her up she wanted to know if she was going back tomorrow. She had a great day. Her favorite part was playing outside and playing at the sand table. I think she's going to really enjoy preschool!

I forgot to take a family picture before preschool, so we took one when we got home after lunch. (And yes, it was cold enough today for long sleeves- the high was only 68 and it was really breezy! Fall is on its way!)

Three County Fair

I've said this before, but I was really spoiled living in Ohio and growing up going to the Canfield Fair. Every fair I go to pales in comparison to the Canfield Fair! Shawn's sister, Vanessa, is visiting us this week, so we decided to check out the oldest fair in America- 192 years. I thought maybe it'd be pretty good, but I was wrong! It was ok, but really small and hardly any food selection! Arilyn and Addison loved it though, so I guess it was worth it.

Shawn took this hilarious picture of a goat. I love the ears.

There was a pen set up for 'racing pigs.' They were baby pigs that ran in a circle and then the kids pet them. The girls loved it. They were laughing so hard when they ran. Both of them couldn't wait to pet them.

Petting the racing pigs.

Arilyn was really brave this trip and wanted to pet everything.

Aunt Vanessa helping Addison see the baby ducks.

The girls couldn't wait to get into the poultry building so we could see the chickens and roosters. However, they didn't like it so much once we were in the building and the roosters were loud. As we walked out, Arilyn said- Let's never go in there again! It was pretty funny.

Addison looking at baby chicks running around.

Arilyn having a staring contest with the goat.

These goats were really noisy and Arilyn was talking to it- making goat noises.

And again, Arilyn got up close and personal with the animals. She's making snorting noises at these pigs.

Addison followed suit and was helping to make snorting noises at the pigs.

Arilyn went on her first ferris wheel ride with Aunt Vanessa. She loved it. Unfortunately, Addison was too little to go on.
