Sugar Cookies

For the past few days, Arilyn has been asking me if we can make 'shape cookies.' I finally gave in today and prepared for the mess. It wasn't so bad and the girls had so much fun. Arilyn did really good making the shapes. Addison didn't quite get it and played like she would with play dough. Oh well, she had fun!

The girls making a mess and having fun!

Addison trying to make letter cookies.

Arilyn rolling her dough. She got a little frustrated because she would roll it super thin and then the cookie would break when she tried to take it off the table.

Addison having a good time!

Arilyn rolling more dough.

Addison took her turn with the roller, too!

Waiting patiently. Seven minutes is 'forever' for little girls!

The finished products! The thickness was so varied that some were really gooey and some were crispy. It didn't matter to the girls though- they loved them! They were quite yummy.

Comfy Girls

When it's time for Addison to go down for a nap or bedtime, Arilyn gets to watch tv in Mommy & Daddy's room. Today, I said it was time to go upstairs for Addison to take a nap...

When I got upstairs, Addison had made herself comfortable in my bed! It was hilarious!

And the same scene at bedtime, only with Arilyn, too. They were watching Go Diego Go before bed.

Happy Easter!

The Easter Bunny came while we were at church. The girls were so excited about their baskets. The Easter Bunny thought the weather was going to be nicer and got bubbles and sidewalk chalk. It was a beautiful sunny day, but freezing! The girls had coats, hats and gloves on while they played with sidewalk chalk!

The Easter baskets and presents.

Arilyn & Addison looking at all the presents.

While I was taking pictures, Addison helped herself to a bite of the chocolate bunny.

Arilyn loves puzzles so it was the first thing she wanted to do!

Addison enjoying her bite of bunny.

Easter Dresses

I'm probably no fun, but I just can't justify buying frilly dresses just for Easter. I guess I'm just practical, buying something they'll be able to wear all summer. The girls liked wearing the dresses anyway. Sitting down for pictures...not so much. It is so frustrating! These were the best I could get.

Arilyn loves our dogs. She's giving Ellie a hug.

Shawn bought a new wide angle camera lens and was having fun taking some creative shots.

Arilyn was enjoying it and being really goofy.

Shawn and I were both taking pictures. This is Addison being goofy as Shawn was taking her picture...

...and here is what Shawn got on his camera. Too funny!

I was trying to bribe Addison with marshmallows...it didn't work. This is her saying cheese with a mouthful of marshmallows.

Here's the best I got of Arilyn, although she was pretty patient. We did get a lot more good ones of her than Addison.

And here's Addison. Once I gave her a drink, she wouldn't put her cup down. Oh well!

Happy Easter!!!

Coloring Eggs

We colored eggs while my mom was visiting, too. The girls had a blast and their hands were colored for the rest of the afternoon.

Arilyn looking at all the colors.

Addison trying to get the egg back out.

Arilyn putting an egg in. I'm really surprised none of the eggs cracked. The girls would just drop them into the cup.

Oops... this one did get cracked because Addison slammed it on the table.

The girls with their eggs.

Grandma Townsend's Visit/Disney on Ice

My mom came to visit the week before Easter and we had great visit! While she was here, we went to see Disney on Ice. My aunt took me every year since I was about Arilyn's age and it's so fun to be able to share it with my kids, too! The girls had so much fun with Grandma! Thanks for coming Mom!

Addison & Grandma

We went to see Disney on Ice and it was so much fun. I think I was actually more excited than the girls! Addison was so into it! She never took her eyes of the action. It was so funny!

This is Addison applauding after one of the acts. Like I said- she absolutely loved it!

Arilyn on the other hand, I wasn't so sure. To her credit, the music was extremely loud, but she spent almost the entire 2 hour show with her hands over her ears. We went to the bathroom during the intermission and I asked if she was having a good time. She jumped up and down and said yes, but you would never know it from the way she kept her ears covered!

This years show was Disney 100 Years, so they had a bunch of characters. This was the Aladdin part with the Genie, which Arilyn said was her favorite part.

One of my favorite movies, Finding Nemo.

Mickey & Minnie

Lumiere from the Beauty and the Beast.

Minnie

Timon and Pumbaa from the Lion King.

Dale

All the princesses and their men. Arilyn really liked this part- so she says.

Mickey

These are the souvenirs we came home with... more crowns! These ones are pretty cool though- they light up.

Silly Girls!

Addison has recently learned how to jump...well, sort of. I thought it was hilarious so I got out the camera to catch the action. Arilyn, however, wanted some face time as well! You'll see what I mean!

Landscaping

Since the weather has been getting a little nicer, the girls and I have been spending a lot of time outside. The landscaping in front of our house was really overgrown and old, so much to Shawn's dismay, I have started tearing everything out. And I literally mean everything! I am sore, but I dug up every shrub and plant in our front yard. There was one really big bush in the yard that had about 5 different thing all growing together. The result was a huge stump. I tried for a few days to dig it out, but no luck. Shawn helped me today and after a few minutes of digging he decided to use the Pathfinder to pull it out. And he got it! The girls thought it was great and I am so relieved that it's out!

I got a wheel barrel for all the landscaping work. Arilyn and Addison have gotten the most use out of it however! They think it's great. (And like I said- the weather is starting to get nicer- this weekend has been really cold!)

Here's the stump! It's out- yea!!

Here's Shawn and Arilyn right after he pulled out the stump. He was so proud!

The girls sitting in the hole!

Daddy and Addison in the hole. Arilyn has been really interested in taking pictures lately and with a little help from me- she took this one. She gets a little shutter happy and pushes the button before she sees anything. It's funny.

One last ride before we went in for hot chocolate!
