Mt Agamenticus

We went hiking a few weeks ago- Mt Agamenticus in Maine. It was a lot of fun. Almost 4 1/2 hours of hiking and the only time the kids complained was when it was lunch time and they were hungry. It was  a great day!

 The trail head

Alexa loved being in the pack, but had not had a nap yet, so she was a little cranky at first.

We started on the bear trail, so every so often there would be a bear on a tree.

Every tiny bit of water we came across we had to stop and look for waterfalls. My kids are completely obsessed with water.

 This was a twisty tree

 Finally asleep!

I was taking a picture with my iPhone and Shawn took this

 Owen

Shawn would run ahead of us on the trail to try to get some neat pictures. Most of the time the kids were not cooperative.

Arilyn, however, always cooperates for the camera! :0)

Still fast asleep as we stopped for lunch

Shawn being creative while we were eating lunch on the trail

 Messy face Owen

 And Addison

Trying to wrap up lunch, the kids were getting anxious to get hiking again.

 Always smiling Arilyn

 Rock climbing

Owen was a little nervous on the rock.

Arilyn climbing on the rock made me nervous!

 Much happier after her nap!

 More hiking

 And more hiking...

Almost to the top! Addison was the trail blazer the whole trip and had to be the leader!

We made it! It was very neat at the top- in this direction you could see the White Mountains and Mt Washington...

Then looking the opposite direction you could see the ocean. Very fun!

 Headed back down...

We took different trails down. The kids liked the name of this trail.

Owen aka Spiderman and on this particular day Batman!

 Hiding in the trees

Arilyn with a funny look on her face!

 I just liked this picture.

The trail down was pretty rocky and at some points pretty steep, so the kids would do the 'Boot Scoot' on their bums.

 Pausing for a kid pic

As soon as Shawn would take the picture, this is what they would look like because it was pretty bright!

Happy Hiker!
